Well, as our Las Vegas adventure spun to a close, Sack drove me to the airport for an early-morning departure. Not many bodies were around at 6:30 or so, normally a good thing, but in this case, arguably bad. I checked out, and then the story escalated, as it were. Only Sgt. Magner and I populated the escalator that would lead us to the parking lot. While going upward, I was, uh, multitasking, about to put on my jacket, juggling a small bag and dragging behind me the big one. Oops...The big bag began to head in a downward direction, having caught a wheel in between stairs. Silly me, I tried pulling the bag up toward me...but I lost the tug-o'war with the escalator motor... Next thing I know, I had hit the deck. Since I had not hurt anything, I was having a tough time not guffawing as I saw my shoes, which had been knocked off, heading up to the top of the escalator... So here I was in the middle, trying to holler "Ken" while catching my breath... In a few seconds, I was sitting on a dock, stying my shoes, trying to piece together what had happened... That's my story, and not only am I sticking to it -- but rather, I am stuck with it... What Ken was able to eyeball as I kept going nowhere in mid-escalation was me in the position you'd want to see a dancer in: legs akimbo... Don't try this at your airport of choice

SnapDraft is a weekly game for football and a daily game for NBA, NHL, and MLB. SnapDraft NFL is currently available and SnapDraft NBA/NHL will be launching soon. SnapDraft MLB will be launching in March.

Well, I did find a way to speed up the loading of CDM's pages....goto View and privacy report....then just block all non-CDM cookies. I'm back to normal and haven't seen any multi-page loading crap...

Scenario #4: If three Clubs are tied for first place in a Division (or Wild Card) with an identical winning percentage at the conclusion of the championship season and the tied Clubs do not have identical records against one another in the championship season, the tie for the Division Championship (or Wild Card) shall be broken as follows:

If the three tied Clubs have identical records against one another in the championship season, the Office of the Commissioner shall supervise a draw that results in the Clubs' being designated Club "A," "B," and "C."

If the tied Clubs do not have identical records against one another in the champoinship season, they will be designated Club "A,""B," and "C" based on their records in head-to- head competition during the championship season as follows:

If Club 1 has a better record against each of Clubs 2 and 3, and Club 2 has a better record against Club 3, then Club 1 shall choose a designation as Club "A," "B," or "C," and Club 2 shall choose a designation from the remaining two designations. Club 3 shall be assigned the remaining designation. If Club 1 has a better record against each of Clubs 2 and 3, and Club 2 and Club 3 have the same record against each other, then Club 1 shall choose a designation as Club "A," "B," or "C," and the Office of the Commissioner shall supervise a draw between Clubs 2 and 3, the winner of which shall choose one of the remaining two designations. The remaining Club shall be assigned the remaining designation.

If Club 1 and Club 2 have the same record against each other but each has a better record against Club 3, then the Office of the Commissioner shall supervise a draw between Clubs 1 and 2, the winner of which shall choose a designation as Club "A," "B," or "C." The Club losing the draw shall choose a designation from the remaining two designations. Club 3 shall be assigned the remaining designation.

If Club 1 has a better record against Club 2, Club 2 has a better record against Club 3, and Club 3 has a better record against Club 1, then the three Clubs shall be ranked on the basis of overall winning percentage within that three-Club group, and the Club with the highest winning percentage from among that three-Club group shall have first choice among designations as Club"A," "B," or "C," the Club with the next highest winning percentage from among that three-Club group shall have the next choice between the two remaining designations, and the Club with the lowest winning percentage from among that three-Club group shall be assigned the remaining designation. If two or more of the Clubs within such three-Club group have the same winning percentage among the group, the Office of the Commissioner shall supervise a draw between the Clubs so tied to determine priority of selection among the designations.

Club"A" shall play Club "B" at the ballpark of Club "A" on Monday, September 29. The following day (Tuesday, September 30), the winner of the first game shall be the home Club in a second game, against Club "C." The winner of the game between Club"C" and the Club that won the game between Club"A" and Club"B" shall be declared the Division Champion.

Example of Scenario #4: The Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Royals and Minnesota Twins tie for the AL Central Division Championship. The Seattle Mariners have a better record than all three tied Clubs and would be the Wild Card. Based on their head-to-head records through games of September 7 (CWS 7-5 over each Minnesota and KC; KC 11-8 over Minnesota), the White Sox would choose their designation as Club "A," "B," or "C," and Kansas City would choose a designation from the remaining two designations. Minnesota would be assigned the remaining designation.

I work in an organization in Texas with about 700 members. We are looking for something similar to this BBS. I know there are blogs, list servs, chat rooms, pay, and free BBS. We would not have 700 people on every day, probably about as much traffic as this BBS. The stuff I looked at in the past had a huge amount of administrator responsibility and a bunch of crap like smilees that I dont care about. Just Q and A chat, and possibly the ability to block someone from posting.. Anyone know of anything?

cdm - i just talked to customer service and kara or tara is supposed to call me monday about my football winnings. i am worried that i may never see the money as uninformed as the person i spoke to was. there is no reason on earth it should take 6+ months to get paid MY MONEY. It's nice and sunny (what else is new here in Arizona!), but we did have some rain this past week which was very refreshing. I miss the fall foliage back east, but certainly do not miss the winters. As for painting houses, we had ours done using liquid ceramic a few years ago, and it has been great!

Steroid use would seem to fit golf much more than baseball. In golf the target is stationary as opposed to 90 MPH. I once read where some PGA pros were taking heart blockers 'cause they slow the heart beat and help with the yips. I have to believe some are muscling up with steroids with the rewards for winning so great. Any comments?

Anybody here wish to comment on the following I would appreciate feedback-I have been playing Yahoo fantasy baseball for many years and I just had the worst experince ever-seems there was a moron in my public league who insisted on posting harassing, vulgar, nonsensical messages to me over and over-I thought Yahoo used to monitor idiots like that, but they just wouldn't stop his guy. I held my temper and never vulgarized back and filtered him out,but then he got other players in the league doing it. I've never seen so much vulgar garbage being allowed on a Yahoo league. Anybody ever have sim probs w/Yahoo leagues? Fantasy baseball used to fun and other players were always competitive but couteous-what happened?

BB: Are you sure about that baseball and its dates/names? Bob Oliver played with KC in 1970, while Al Oliver played with the Pirates in 1970. Neither guy drove in 5 runs on that date. You can look it up on www.retrosheet.org which has boxscores for every game/player/franchise.
